The Brewer and the Chef
In October, several members of the OM NSW attended an amazing beer tasting with our famous local brewer Chuck Hahn matched by food by our famous chef Matthew Kemp and his partner Lela Radojkovic at Restaurant Balzac. Attached are some pictures, the menu and a very useful beer chart.
All beers where perfectly matched and all the beers were presented in wine glasses - which apparently is the modern way. The food was exquisite and the chefs worked very hard on incorporating and enhancing the beer aspect in the menu.
To be perfectly honest, there was to much beer (two with each course) and although each beer had very strong characteristics it was all very filling.
The most unique item on the menu was the 'sparkling' beer made in 2000 The Hahn Vintage Ale. A beer made along the lines of method champagnoise and it was truly unique. This beer cannot be bought so it was a very unique experience.

La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs' members (Bailliage de NSW), gathered at L'Etoile restaurant in Paddington, for a French bistro dinner.
The National finals of the Jeune Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition were held at the HTA in Brisbane on Saturday 3rd July 2010.
